TAWAU: Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sabah chairman Jimmy Wong officially announced he will be defending his Sri Tanjung assemblyman seat for the coming 13th General Election.

Jimmy said this in front of more than 1,000 people during the DAP charity dinner here last night.
“I am defending the seat as there is still many unfinished business such as his mission to ensure the open space at Sabindo will remain so for the people,” he said.

By making the announcement, he shot down speculations that he will be standing in the West Coast as a candidate.
Meanwhile, Jimmy said Sabah has hope of becoming like Penang and Selangor and poverty could be reduced with better roads, electricity and water supply.

He said the road system will at least be upgraded into four lanes within five years and to six lanes in ten years.
“At least four lanes highway to link all districts major towns compared to now which is only a trunk road,” he said to audience if the Pakatan Rakyat comes into power.

He said the railway system too will be further developed connecting it to other major districts and called on the people for support if they want to see changes in Sabah.
