KOTA KINABALU: The Malaysian Council of Former Elected Representatives (Mubarak) will submit a list of former elected representatives to the Barisan Nasional (BN) leadership for consideration as candidates for general election.
“We are not going against the party leaders but do what is necessary and if the candidates (Muabarak members) are suitable and winnable, then we will promote them,” Mubarak president Datuk Seri Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman told reporters after a Mubarak function here yesterday.
He said that the list of qualified candidates from among former elected representatives nationwide is in the final stage of scrutiny.
“The selected candidates must be popular and winnable as required by BN chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. Some of them continued to serve in their respective areas. We take note of this and based it on Najib’s principle to find winnable candidates.”
Aziz is confident that BN would get the support of the people based on the achievements of the prime minister in leading the country for three years.
He said that Mubarak would give full support to BN to ensure that the coalition party win big in the general election. — Bernama
